Belgrade Polytechnic is a public Higher Education institution (tertiary level) that has a tradition in education for almost 60 years. Belgrade Polytechnic, founded in 1959 as Technical College, started out with only two study programmes in the field of Leather Technology. At that time, the school assembled 16 employees - 13 teachers and 3 administrative employees for support. Over time, Belgrade Polytechnic has noted a significant growth regarding the number of students, employees and study programmes with the main goal to respond to growing needs of industry and society at all.
Today, Belgrade Polytechnic offers professional education in two areas – Technology and Art, that include 9 study programmes at Bachelor applied level and three study programs at professional master level. The Belgrade Polytechnic educates professionals in the following fields: Graphic Engineering, Environmental Protection, Quality Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Recycling Technologies, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design of Leather Products, and Concept Art and Character Design. Belgrade Polytechnic has strong cooperation with the industry in terms of student practical placement, and internship, especially in the field of technology. Until now, over the 6000 students have graduated from Belgrade Polytechnic.
Since 2009, Belgrade Polytechnic has established Quality Management System according to ISO 9001 and certified by YUQS and IQNet in the field of Higher Education. This ensures that all study programmes, as well as other processes, have the same level of quality and are in compliance in terms of content, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. In 2007, according to the Law on Higher Education in Serbia, the institution obtained first accreditation. The College has continued successful accreditation in 2012, 2017 and 2019.

The classes are organized in two semesters – fall and spring, six days per week. The academic year commences on 1 October and ends on 30 September.

The Belgrade Polytechnic offers professional studies at two levels. At the first level, there are Bachelor applied and Specialist degree studies, and at the second level, there is a Master degree programme. Two areas, Technology and Art, comprise the study programmes around nine fields, as follows:

Official language of instruction is Serbian. For non-Serbian speaking students, some courses offer consultative class in English.

Arrangements for academic guidance
Students have necessary academic and non-teaching support during the whole study period. Mentors from all study programmes are responsible for student guidance throughout the teaching and learning process. They provide information and assistance in solving academic problems, taking care about the implementation of ethical norms among students, etc.
